150 Members of Mid-West Business Community Participating in the Programme

Tuesday, January 31st 2017: Limerick Chamber kicked off its Regional Leaders’ Programme at an event hosted by Dell EMC at its campus in Raheen Business Park. The programme is being delivered by Limerick Chamber in partnership with Dell EMC and the University of Limerick. The purpose of the initiative is to develop leaders for the future in the Mid-West region and beyond through mentorship and skills sharing.
Following on from the success of the Limerick Chamber’s recent Leadership Mentoring Programme, this new programme, with the support of Dell EMC and University of Limerick, will support skill development amongst 150 current and future business leaders. The Regional Leaders’ Programme will run on a bi-monthly basis at Dell EMC’s Limerick Campus. Over a networking lunch, each session will involve an address from one of the country’s well known executives – someone from either the private or public sector.
The programme will be made up of 5 leadership talks over the course of 12 months. The first will be delivered by Denis Brosnan, former CEO, Kerry Group on the 21st February. Each of these leadership talks are private sessions for the 150 participants signed up to the programme.
Dr James Ring, CEO, Limerick Chamber, said: “Our Regional Leaders’ Programme is aimed at professionals who want to develop their leadership skills or for companies who would like to increase the capacity of their internal talent pool to ensure the next generation of their company is in safe hands. We are delighted to partner with Dell EMC and the University of Limerick on this initiative. Experts from both organisations will be centrally involved in the delivery of the programme at Dell EMC’s campus.”
In between the bi-monthly leadership talks, the 150 participants will participate in smaller groups with a mentor. This will be a senior leader from the region who will work with them to develop their leadership skills. Each group will receive a new mentor every two months, ensuring that they are exposed to many different leadership styles drawn for a broad range of sectors.
