Limerick Chamber has formally launched its Leadership Mentoring Programme (LMP) aimed at developing the current and future generation of the regions leaders and building a strong peer to peer network for those involved in terms of experience sharing and mentorship.

Each month the group will meet with a senior leader from the public and private sectors who will talk about their views on leadership followed by question and answers and group mentoring. The maiden speaker on the programme was the highly respected former Kentz CEO and Limerick native, Dr. Hugh O Donnell.

Limerick Chamber CEO, Dr. James Ring speaking at the launch said “Central to the Chambers strategy is the ability to create strong networks. The people on the LMP are all earmarked by their companies as future heavy hitters in their respective fields and this programme will give them the knowledge, and crucially, the peer to peer network to ensure they can develop their own leadership style and become the most effective leaders they can be”.

He concluded with “having an inspirational leader like Dr. O Donnell start the programme is a real boost. His story is phenomenal and inspirational yet he somehow makes it seem so easy. The feedback from the group has been excellent and I look forward to continuing the programme for many years to come ensuring Limerick Chamber is playing its part in developing the leaders of this region.

The groups next confirmed speakers will be City Manager Conn Murray and Shannon Airport Chairman, Rose Hynes.
