Limerick’s Live 95FM Plays its full part in the Power of Radio

85% OF LMERICK PEOPLE TUNE INTO A RADIO STATION EVERY DAY

The enduring strength of radio in Limerick is emphasised by the latest official Ipsos/MRBI JNLR radio listenership results, which were released on Wednesday, April 26th, covering the 12 months to the end of March 2017.

They show that 85% of adults in Limerick tune into a radio station every day, a massive endorsement of the medium of radio, despite all the competition for people’s attention from other media, in the modern landscape.

Limerick’s Live 95FM remains the clear market leader in Limerick City and County, with more than 6 out of 10 Limerick adults tuning-in every week.

Chief Executive Joe Nash said “Limerick people’s love of radio is remarkable and enduring. It is so much a part of our lives, whether for news, sport, chat, music or entertainment. We strive to deliver to the people of Limerick City and County day in, day out. We are also grateful to our advertisers, who continue to trust us to deliver their message to their Limerick customers.”

He continued ” I want to thank the hard working team at Limerick’s Live 95FM that you hear on the air and those behind the scenes, for their commitment to what we do, every day of the year. It is a privilege to serve this community and one that we never take for granted.”

It has been a busy year so far at Live 95FM headquarters. In January, the station sent lucky listeners on sun holidays to France, Morocco and Lanzarote. They gave away over €5,000 in cash in the ‘Are you Turned On?’ competition and the excitement doesn’t stop there as listeners will battle it out to win a staggering €10,000 in May.

Live 95FM has kept listeners up to date with all the latest sport and recently joined forces with rugby legends John Hayes and Tony Ward for ‘live’ panel discussions ahead of travelling to the Aviva stadium to support Munster in the European Champions’ Cup Semi-final. The station also partnered with JP McManus and Paul O’Connell for the Team Limerick Clean Up 3 and brought Limerick listeners Riverfest coverage right across the May Bank Holiday weekend, including the Barrington’s Hospital Great Limerick Run, the annual fireworks display and lots more.

Limerick’s Live 95FM’s exciting schedule includes the Breakfast Show with Mark and Catriona; the Limerick Today Show with Joe Nash, weekdays from 9am; Afternoons with Declan Copues; the Live Drive with Gary Connor and Live at Night with JP Dillon. The schedule, as always, delivers up-to-the minute Limerick news and sport and more great music you can’t get enough of, too.
