Local Enterprise Offices must be implemented on time

21 May 2013:  Limerick Chamber has welcomed the launch of Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) as a replacement for County Enterprise Boards and Business Support Units of Local Authorities.

Maria Kelly, Limerick Chamber CEO, said “We welcome the introduction of Local Enterprise Offices and the increased efficiencies and cost savings associated with their establishment. If executed properly, these ‘one stop shops’ have the opportunity to provide real benefit to SMEs and start ups. The enterprise start up function in particular is key and this should be strengthened and reinforced in the new LEO structure.”

“However, this benefit will only be realised when they actually open their doors for business. If the timeline of having all offices open by the end of the year is achieved, the LEOs have the potential to become another important resource for business.”

“Limerick Chamber is committed to working closely with the Local Enterprise Office to ensure the best service for business.”
