Mid-West Chambers Host Annual Networking Evening
Tuesday 1st March: The very popular annual gathering of Limerick, Shannon and Ennis Chamber members in the form of an energetic evening of networking will take place on Thursday, 10th March in the Oakwood Arms Hotel, Shannon, from 6.30pm – 8.30pm. Now a firmly established event in the Chamber network calendar, since it was first introduced over five years ago, the evening has already delivered a lot of intra-member business with many new contacts and contracts already generated.
This year’s event, which also provides an opportunity for businesses to display their product and service offerings, is being facilitated by ConnectIreland’s chief executive, Joanna Murphy, who was so impressed with her recent visit to Shannon that she has agreed to return to inject an infectious enthusiasm into the room on the night.
Local companies Cantor Fitzgerald, BBnet and Campion Insurance and are also lending their support in the form of sponsorship, without which an evening of this nature could not be offered free to members.
Chamber chief executives, Rita McInerney (Ennis Chamber), Dr James Ring (Limerick Chamber) and Helen Downes (Shannon Chamber) have no difficulty in encouraging members to attend: “It’s an event which sits well with members. They know it is a very purposeful evening of networking.
“The more interactive they are on the night and the more they sell themselves and their business, the more return they will get. Networking is a skill which requires practice and that’s why we are delighted that Joanna Murphy has agreed to act as facilitator. She is an amazingly productive networker, as can be seen from the gains she is achieving with ConnectIreland. She will encourage attendees to step out of their comfort zones and be actively participative networkers. We look forward to seeing our members gain new business leads at the event.”
