New President for Limerick Chamber

 

5 March 2015: Catherine Duffy, General Manager of Northern Trust, was confirmed as the new President of Limerick Chamber at a board meeting today.  She was presented with the chain of office by outgoing president Cathal Treacy.  Ken Johnson, Managing Partner, PwC Mid-West, was confirmed as Vice President of Limerick Chamber.

 

Speaking about her aspirations for the new role, Ms Duffy said, “2015 is a very exciting year for Limerick Chamber. Firstly, we have a new CEO in Dr James Ring. Secondly, it’s our bicentennial year. Thirdly, we have several new members on our board.”

 

“The most important part of Limerick Chamber is our members.  Our role is to represent their business and support and facilitate employment growth and enterprise development in the region.  The Chamber is on a journey and we are bringing our members along with us. Our members will be part of our campaign for improving the economic conditions in Limerick. We want Limerick to be at the forefront of people’s minds, both in Limerick and outside looking in,” she continued.

 

Catherine is the third female president for Limerick Chamber in its 200 year history.  Kay McGuinness and Jeannette McDonnell held the role in the past.

Biography – Catherine Duffy

As General Manager of Northern Trust, Catherine is responsible for the strategic development and day to day operations of Northern Trust in Limerick. Prior to her Limerick role Catherine ran Transfer Agency in Dublin. Previously to that she held a number of other roles as Head of Investment Operations, Corporate Actions Manager, and Head of Control. Catherine started her career in Control in Ulster Bank in 1990 and progressed through the organization. When Northern Trust acquired Ulster Bank in May of 2000 Catherine moved into the Head of Investment Operations.
