At this event Mark Breen, MD Cuckoo Events and Safe Events and Val Dolan, Dolan’s Warehouse tell their stories of how they grew their businesses. They will each give their story and secrets to their success.
To close this event there will also be an interactive panel discussion with all speakers.
Speaker Bio’s:
Mark Breen
Mark is Director of Safe Events as well as Cuckoo Events based in Dublin, Ireland. He is an award-winning event Safety Officer and one of the most experienced and qualified event & crowd safety practitioners in Ireland. He works internationally and domestically, with recent projects including a large Arts Festival in Saudi Arabia and work on consultancy projects for a large international airport and a European arena. He is a Specialist Member of IIRSM, as well as being a member of IOSH, EPS, IFEA and ESA.
Mark writes and speaks regularly on all things event-related, particularly event & crowd safety. He is a Graduate Member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland and holds a Postgraduate Diploma in PR & Event Management. He is currently working on his dissertation for the MSc in Crowd Safety & Risk Analysis in Manchester Metropolitan University. With almost 20 years working in security and safety at events large and small, Mark is vastly experienced in the nuances and challenges of keeping people safe at events.
Val Dolan
In December 1994, Valerie moved into Dolans with her husband Mick and two children Neil and Sarah. They wanted a pub with Traditional Irish Music every night so that anyone who wanted to listen or play in a session could do so any night of the week all year round. The response from local musicians was fantastic and by Paddy’s Day 1995 the place was hopping. The acoustic sessions were (and still are) great and they decided to open a bigger venue to accommodate national and international acts thus the Warehouse was opened in 1998.
Today Dolans is comprised of three venues, two outdoor areas, a Traditional Irish Pub and a Restaurant. Dolan’s venues have played host for many National and International acts including Kasabian, Franz Ferdinand, Sharon Shannon, Snow Patrol, Duffy and Imelda May.
