New Best Community Award Category Added for 2015
11 June 2015: The 2015 Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards were officially launched at a business breakfast sponsored by VHI in Limerick this morning. Now in their fifth year, the awards are sponsored by LIT and recognise and celebrate business success across all sectors and sizes from SME’s right up to multinationals.
Speaking at the launch, Catherine Duffy, President of Limerick Chamber said, “Since the inception of the Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards in 2011 we have been trumpeting the success of businesses in our region. We have a lot to shout about in the mid-west and these awards provide the perfect avenue for companies to showcase their exceptional businesses.”
“We are encouraging as many companies as possible to enter. It’s not just about the award winners. We have found that companies who have been shortlisted have found the recognition and profile received validates their efforts but also motivates and encourages them and others to strive for event more success,” she continued.
Media sponsors Limerick Leader and Limerick’s Live 95FM will profile each of the companies shortlisted for the awards.
Dr Maria Hinfelaar, President of LIT, overall sponsors of the awards said, “LIT is delighted to sponsor the Limerick Chamber Business awards for the 5th year running. This marks a collaborative agreement between LIT and the Chamber at multiple levels. During this year of the 200th anniversary of the Chamber, lets commit to close collaboration between them and LIT for another 100 years – and of course I hope that all the businesses will still be there then.”
A new award category, Best Community Award, has been added to the previous seven categories. This award is open to all charitable, social enterprise and non-profit organisations.

- Best Retail & Hospitality Business
- Best Sport, Art & Culture
- Best Service Business
The closing date for entries is 25 September 2015. Companies interested in entering the awards should click here. Finalists for each award category will be announced at the Limerick Chamber President’s Dinner on 13 November 2015.
The judging panel is drawn from the senior management teams of our sponsors along with members of the Limerick Chamber board.
The awards are open to all businesses (not just members) in Limerick, Clare, Tipperary, North Cork and North Kerry.

About the Awards
Now in its fifth year, the annual Limerick Chamber Regional Business Awards celebrate excellence in business across 8 categories. Last year, Grassland Agro won the Overall Business of the year Award. Previous winners include Samco, Cook Medical and Northern Trust.
The Limerick Chamber President’s dinner will be held in the Strand Hotel on the evening of Friday 13 November. The event is the most prestigious business event in the region. Over 400 guests will attend the black tie gala event this year.
